  • Cutting-edge technology is not just a characteristic of our age

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s posters are some of the most brilliant in the medium. His Jane Avril, while showing the hint of caricature common to much of his work, has a real sense of individuated character. Jane Avril, a dancer at the Moulin Rouge, was one of Toulouse-Lautrec’s great friends and this, his  penultimate poster, was his homage to her.
